Vail Community Programs offers innovative programs that enrich learners of all ages. We provide opportunities for learning and growth, respect, interdependency, and success for all.

Community Programs offer the following:

  • Extended hours – 7 A.M. to 6 P.M.
  • Toddlers- ages 2-3 (Offered at Desert Willow only)
  • Preschool- ages 3-5 Our preschool program curriculum adheres to the Arizona Early Learning Standards, while focusing on the development of critical thinking and Life Skills necessary for their learning goals.
  • Pre-K- ages 4-5 Our Pre-K program is designed to provide a strong foundation and connection to the Kindergarten curriculum. The environment promotes the development of critical thinking, academic, and positive social skills through hands on exploration.
  • The preschool and Pre-K program offers families options for full day or part day services. Full day programming is available 7:00am-6:00pm and part day programming is available from 8:00am-11:00am.
  • Our program is NAEYC accredited.
  • Before/After school programs – ages 5-11
  • DES approved
  • During the breaks we offer Vail Discovery Camps & Enrichment Camps- ages preschool – 8thgrade.

KIDCO:After-school Recreation Program

The City of Tucson Parks & Recreation provides an after-school recreation program for children ages 5-11, in kindergarten through fifth grade at Senita Valley in the MPR from 2:45-6:00 PM.

KIDCO is only in session when school is in session.

KIDCO provides the following: 

  • A safe, comfortable place for children to be after school.
  • An opportunity for kids to express themselves through various art forms, sports and special events.
  • A place to practice physical fitness, experience healthy alternatives and learn respect for the body.
  • An environment that helps promote self-esteem, encourages listening and caring and where positive values are reinforced.
  • An opportunity to develop varied interests, to practice recreational skills and to experience positive use of leisure time.
  • A time for friendships and socializing.
